3/365

New Every Morning.

One of my favorite time of days (when I decide to wake up) is sunrise. I like to be up and out to watch the world come to life. As the sun rises and the sky is a painted display of God's creativity and beauty, I can't help but be reminded of the passage which talks about the mercies of the Lord, and their newness every morning.

Lamentations 3:22-23
22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.

What does this mean to me? That today, God is once again extending His love and compassion to me in a new way- in an unconditional way. He is there to meet me where I am, to walk with me, to encourage me through the journey He has placed me on... and He's NOT going to leave me! This mercy is not extended to me based on what I have done for Christ, but based on what Christ has done for me through the cross (1/365). How awesome to know it's not anything I do that merit's the love of Christ.

This morning my heart is full of worship to the Lord for His mercies that are new THIS morning. God is so faithful to me. I praise and thank Jesus for the mercy He has extended to me today.

A Debtor of Mercy
"A debtor to mercy alone
Of covenant mercy I sing
I come with Your righteousness on
My humble offering to bring
The judgments of Your holy law
With me can have nothing to do
My Savior’s obedience and blood
Hide all my transgressions
From view

The work which Your goodness began
The arm of Your strength will complete
Your promise is yes and amen
And never was forfeited yet
The future or things that are now
No power below or above
Can make You Your purpose forego
Or sever my soul from Your love

My name from the palms of Your hands
Eternity will not erase
Impressed on Your heart it remains
In marks of indelible grace
Yes I, to the end will endure
Until I bow down at Your throne
Forever and always secure
Forever and always secure
Forever and always secure
A debtor to mercy alone"
