Beauty.

Design. Because God is the ultimate display of beauty and the Creator of it, I believe He is pleased to see beautiful design. The interesting part of design is that beauty is defined differently by different people, so when you are working with clients, you have to train your mind to see beauty from their perspective. Who knew that "horrible" florals from the 1960's could be beautiful? Now, pole lamps on the other hand, might be a bit of a stretch... (this lamp has a spring tension rod that extends from the top of the lamp to the ceiling to hold the lamp in place- quite interesting!)

Then again... this is selling for $350.00.........

With all of that said, we have been working on a project of "beauty" in our house these last couple of days and I wanted to share the process/progress. We have been anticipating the addition of granite countertops to our home for a long time, and we are finally implementing our plan.

So, you can walk along with us...

Kitchen before...

Kitchen during :)

Our granite guys- from Blueridge Stonecrafters in Easley- great work and awesome to work with!!

Well, now you see what it currently LOOKS like. The granite is currently installed in the kitchen and all of the bathrooms. I will post pictures soon.  By the end of tomorrow the backsplash in the kitchen should be in, new appliances come late this week, and the master bath tile should come in the following week. SO exciting to see the changes!!!

Dad gets bonus points for putting all of the faucets back on... he is the best!

So, thanks to the Lord for beauty. Think about this- God could have designed everything in the world the same way. It could be a boring, functional world. Yet He has created objects of uniqueness and interest that we can enjoy and use to bring glory to Him. Such an awesome concept!
